Left-Handed Pitcher Shawn O’Neil earns the second Turks Player of the Week for the 2012 season.  O’Neil is a junior from LaSalle University, and hails from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  In the past week O’Neil made 3 appearances out of the bullpen, throwing a total of 9 1/3 Innings Pitched, and allowing just 3 hits in that span.  O’Neil can dominate hitters out of the pen with the help of a sharp fastball, that can overpower hitters.  Along with the 3 hits allowed, O’Neil only allowed 1 run, and tallied 9 strikeouts to total 20 strikeouts on the year, 5^th in the valley league.

O’Neil has come in strong out of the bullpen, and shown success all season long.  He 5^th in the valley league in low ERA, posting a 0.95 Earned Run Average.  O’Neil also leads the valley league in saves with 4 (tied with teammate Josh Karr).  O’Neil has proven a strong arm and gritty mentality relieving the mound in crucial points in ballgames and shutting the door.
