A lot of talent has come through the Harrisonburg Turks organization and every year the Major League Baseball draft reminds us of that. This week, six(!) former Turks were drafted over the course of the 3-day, 40 round draft which represents an opportunity for young men all over the country to make their dreams come true. Here are your former Turks who will now have that opportunity:
Sarkis Ohanian (2012), RHP, Duke. Drafted to the Cincinnati Reds in the 9th round.
Matt Rose (2013), 3B, Georgia State. Drafted to the Chicago Cubs in the 11th round.
A.J. Murray (2012), C, Georgia Tech. Drafted to the Minnesota Twins in the 14th round.
Adam Boghosian (2013), RHP, North Greensboro. Drafted to the Washington Nationals in the 22nd round.
Ryan Castallanos (2014), RHP, Nova Southeastern. Drafted to the Detroit Tigers in the 25th round.
Thomas Spitz (2013-14), OF, Wingate. Drafted to the St. Louis Cardinals in the 32nd round.
Congratulations to all six of these great young men and ballplayers. We wish you much success in the future! Go Turks!
