Congratulations to senior, first baseman JJ Bissell from Oklahoma City University for being named Week Two Turks Player of the Week from June 14-20. Bissell hit two home runs and drove in three runs this week for the Turks. JJ hit a two-run home run in the ninth inning in an 11-3 loss to Covington on June 18. Then Bissell hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 12th, in arguably the best win to date for Harrisonburg, an 8-7 thriller against the New Market Rebels on Friday June 19. Bissell also scored four runs and walked once this week. With only four games played this week due to rainouts the Turks player was chosen based on the most impact he made throughout the week. JJ has been solid defensively at first base but it was the power display and late inning heroics that earned him Turks Player of the Week honors.
