Turks Win Seventh Straight

Harrisonburg – Joe Lytle pieced together a 3-for-4 outing. highlighted by a go-ahead three-run home run in the seventh inning, with a home run, two doubles and two RBIs. Harrisonburg extended its Valley Baseball League winning streak to seven games via a 4-3 victory over Front Royal on Thursday at Veterans Memorial Park.

Left-hander Carter Bach, who received a no-decision starting for the Turks (19-17), picked up six strikeouts over six innings with six hits, three walks and three earned runs allowed. Rhett Willis’ three hitless relief innings earned him his first win of the season.

Jared McDonald went 3-for-3 for the Cardinals (16-21) with a home run, two doubles and two RBIs.
