HARRISONBURG, Va. (7/27/17) – Covington (14-28) out hits and puts more runs on the board then Harrisonburg to beat them 2-0 Thursday night low-scoring contest. Covington ends their season on a good note with a shutout and the Turks finish second in the South.
Leadoff batter and third baseman Caleb Walls lead the way for the Lumberjacks, going 2-for-3 with a run. Sean Lawlor went 1-for-4 with a double and had the lone RBI of the game. Zach Kuchmaner was the only Turk to have more than one hit, going 2-for-3 at the plate.
The Turks will be back in action Saturday night to host a playoff game against either Staunton or Waynesboro, depending on the outcome of the Charlottesville vs Staunton game. First pitch at Veterans Memorial Park is scheduled for 7:30pm.
