The Turks want to welcome two James Madison University Dukes to the 2019 team. The first is sophomore communication major, RHP/infielder, Nick Zona. He stands 6’2” and is 190 lb. He graduated from a strong baseball program at Hanover High School in Mechanicsville, VA and was drafted in the 2018 MLB draft in the 38th round by the Mets! He is throwing in the upper 80’s lower 90’s from the mound, and also plays infield. Nick attended the Area Code baseball games in California before going off to college. We are looking forward to having him on the mound for us this summer!
The second Duke is another sophomore, catcher Travis Reifsnider, a JMU business major. Travis is from Richmond, VA. After his senior season at Collegiate School he was named to the baseball all-prep league and all-state team. Coach Ike’s thoughts on Travis this year, “As a catcher, Travis plays a vital role on the field. His arm strength, communication skills and control behind the plate will be a positive asset to our pitching staff. He too adds depth to our lineup by applying his speed and power from the left side. Travis has the potential to be a big time player for JMU and we’re eager to watch him develop.
The Turks are excited to add this pair of JMU Dukes to our team!
