Two Elon Phoenix teammates will spend their summer in Harrisonburg playing for the Turks, Ben Sieracki and Carlos Marte.

Ben Sieracki is a freshman at Elon . A native of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, Sieracki was a two-time All-Conference honoree and team MVP at Rocky Mount HS. The 6’1 righthander played travel ball for Dirtbags Baseball, and was named the Most Valuable Pitcher in the Jupiter WWBA Tournament. Sieracki was a Perfect Game Top 500 prospect out of high school, and ranked the 432nd right-handed pitcher nationally.

Carlos Marte is playing his first year with Elon after transferring from Union County College. In two years at Union, Marte put up eye popping numbers, hitting .370 with 17 hits (second on the team) through 16 games in the shortened 2020 season, recording a .483 on-base percentage and a .478 slugging percentage. As a freshman in 2019, the 5’10 righthander led the Owls in batting average (.372), slugging percentage (.511), hits (67), doubles (12), RBIs (51), and stolen bases (31), earning him Garden State Athletic Conference DIII All-Conference First Team and NJCCA DIII All-Region honors. Marte comes from Elizabeth, New Jersey, and lettered all four years at Woodbridge High School. He was a Top 1000 overall prospect and a 362nd-ranked shortstop in the nation according to Perfect Game.
