Barnett gives the Bulldogs four first team All-Americans over the last three years, joining Mitch Farris, Seaver King and Brody McCullough. He is the first Wingate outfielder to earn All-American accolades since Shane Billings was a second team All-American in 2016.
Barnett had a huge finish to his impressive junior season, hitting .349 with 26 homers and 15 doubles, driving in 87 runs and scoring 68 times. He posted a .739 slugging percentage and .399 on-base percentage, while also stealing 11 bases. The SAC Tournament MVP also earned first team All-SAC accolades, to go along with NCBWA and D2CCA first team All-Region accolades. Barnett led the nation in homers, ranking third in the nation in RBI and sixth in total bases. Barnett broke the Wingate single-season homerun record, while coming up just three RBI short of that record. He was incredible during the postseason, blasting nine homers in nine games, including seven in Wingate’s last six SAC Tournament games, including a two-homer, five-RBI effort in game one of the championship series. Barnett homered in two of the three regional games, driving in five runs on the weekend.”
Best wishes and good luck Sean!
