Meet the Duke Blue Devils

James Ziemba is a redshirt freshman pitcher for the Duke Blue Devils. Ziemba lettered 3 years in high school and was named to the 2013  Perfect Game All-Northeast Region second team. As a senior, Ziemba pitched 36 innings and struck out 43 batters. So far for the Blue  Devils this season, Ziemba is holding opposing batters to a .257 average through 11 appearances.

 

 Peter Zyla is a freshman catcher for the Duke Blue Devils. In high school, Zyla was a three year letter winner and won Team MVP in 2014.  Zyla was voted offensive player of the year and batted .375 with 13 doubles. Zyla is leading the Blue Devils with a .325 batting average.  In 123 at bats he has 14 runs, 40 hits, 5 doubles, 3 triples, 13 RBI’s, 8 walks and is 2-3 on stolen base attempts.
