With a 2-0 record, 0.00 ERA in 13 innings pitched, Malik Jones of Georgia Gwinnett College becomes the first pitcher to be named Turks Player of the Week. Jones started two games, shutting out both the Charlottesville TomSox over seven innings, allowing four hits, and the Woodstock River Bandits over six innings, allowing just one hit.
Jones struck out seven and walked two, and opposing batters hit .125 against him. He is a recent addition to the Turks, but has already racked up a 3-1 record in his two starts and two relief appearances. He has gotten into a few tough spots, and has stayed calm throughout allowing him to get out of jams. Congratulations Malik on being the Turks Week 5 Player of the Week!
