Daily News Record By TODD BAGCHI Special Correspondent For the second straight night, a strong performance from sophomore first baseman Clint Robinson (Troy) paved the way for a Harrisonburg Turks’ victory. Robinson had a crucial two-run double and the Turks trounced the Front Royal Cardinals 12-4 on Friday night at Memorial Stadium to improve their record to 4-3 on the season. The Turks started off strong, scoring a run in each of the first three innings. The fourth inning however, was when the Turks broke the game open. They struck for four runs on five hits to take a commanding 7-0 lead. In the fourth, the Turks wasted no time, loading the bases with their first three batters. Ochs pitched six innings, allowing one run on three hits and striking out eight batters. Nobody was more impressed with the Turks’ performance than manager Bob Wease. After the game Wease applauded his team’s play in every facet of the game. "We came out with a little aggression tonight, we weren’t flat," Wease said. "We came out swinging the bat and had good pitching. We just had a great effort tonight." The Turks host Luray at 7:30 p.m. today.
