Harrisonburg (19-8 overall, 1.5 games back) The Turks went 4-2 last week, and fell back to 1.5 games behind league leader Waynesboro in the Valley League Standings. One of the two Harrisonburg losses game in a showdown of the top-two Valley League teams, as they lost 6-5 at Waynesboro. With the Turks leading 5-4 going into the bottom of the eighth, when newly signed reliever Josh Moore gave up two earned runs to pick up the loss for Harrisonburg. As a team Harrisonburg hit .292 with a league-leading six home runs and 34 RBIs. First baseman David Dennis led the way with a .455 batting average, including a double and two home runs. Dennis also added three RBIs and five runs scored for the Turks. Starter Rod Brantley started two games, going 1-0 with a 2.40 ERA. Brantley pitched 15 innings, striking out 12 while allowing four hits and four earned runs. Closer Garrett Parker picked up two saves in three appearances.
