07/15/2008 – Turks Tidbits

Covington – The Turks traveled to Covington to make up a rained out game from July 28th and came back to Harrisonburg with a win, 4-3. Right-hand pitcher Garrett Parker (Oklahoma City U.) turned in a sound performance on the mound, pitching eight complete innings, allowing five hits, three runs, walking two, and striking out nine batters. The Turks scored four runs on nine hits. Catcher Mike Pericht (St. Joseph College) hit a two-run homer. Second-baseman Landon Camp (Oklahoma City U.) was one for two with one RBI, and third-baseman Brett Stewart was one for five with one RBI. The Turks (13-19) visit the Braves (18-15) tonight at John Moxie Stadium in Staunton. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
