New Market – Outfielder Drew Johnson went 2-for-5 wich a home run, three RBI’s and two runs scored to help the Harrisonburg Turks clinch a spot Sunday in the eight-tem Valley Baseball League playoffs with an 8-3 win over New Market. The Turks improved to 18-25; the Rebels fell to 15-28. The top three teams in each division and the two teams with the next best record make the playoffs. Harrisonburg, along with Haymarket, were the last two teams in. The playoff teams: Waynesboro, Staunton, Covington and Harrisonburg in the South Division, and Luray, Fauquier, Winchester, and Haymarket in the North. Today is the last day of the regular season and all the seeds will be determined after tonight’s games. The Turks will either be a seven or eight seed. The playoffs are scheduled to start Tuesday.
