Freshman Garrett Ford of the Georgia State Panthers will join the pitching staff of the 2013 Turks. The 6′ 175 pound lefty is from Loganville, GA where he was a four-year letter winner as a pitcher, outfielder, and first baseman at Loganville High School. Ford was 12-1 with 54 strikeouts and a 1.98 ERA in 70.2 innings of action on the mound while also posting a .310 batting average as a senior. Ford finished his high school career with a 21-1 career record and 100 strikeouts. He helped lead LHS to a 31-9 overall record, the 2012 Class AAAA State Championship and a No. 20 ranking in the nation by Rawlings/Perfect Game. Ford helped his team to the GA state semi-finals in 2009 and 2011.
