In the 90s, the Turks roster would regularly been seen with several members of the Baylor Bears baseball team. With the rise in numbers of summer circuits across the country, namely the leagues in Texas, BU players have been in short supply here in the mid Atlantic. This summer may change things with freshman infielder Steven McLean.The freshman shortstop stand 5′ 10″ from the right handed batter’s box. As he was a red shirt this year, his action this past spring was limited. However, in high school, McLean stood out from the pack as a 2013 Rawlings All-California Region honorable mention and first-team all league from 2011-13. His accolades don’t stop there. McLean stood out his senior year for a reason. As the 2013 top defensive player in the Central Coast Section, McLean’s offense spoke volumes as well as he stole 12 bases, clubbed 4 home runs, and hit an impressive .574, all while holding a 4.0 GPA.
