A Pair of Texas Longhorns Added to the Turks Roster

Coming all the way from the University of Texas is redshirt junior Bryson Smith! In 2017 he played for Western Kentucky, and had to sit out the 2018 season due to NCAA transfer rules. While at Western Kentucky he appeared in 40 games, and started 25 of them. Bryson hit .271 for the Hilltoppers and had one homer and drove in 4 runs! Bryson started 23 of the final 24 games of the season at third.  Bryson saw limited time this year with the Longhorns. His major at Texas is Human Dimensions of Organizations
While in high school, he played at San Marino High School in California and one season at Barron Collier High School in Florida. He was named All-Rio Hondo First Team and All-L.A. County Second Team in 2015 and 2016, while also being twice selected to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune All-Star Game. In 2014 he played in the Perfect Game Junior  and the 2015 Perfect Game National Showcases and played in at the 2014 Perfect Game WWBA World Championship in Jupiter, Fla.

Longhorn teammate, Caston Peter will accompany Smith to Harrisonburg. The young freshman catcher got playing time starting 10 of 17 games with 34 at bats, 5 runs, 6 hits, 2 home runs and 9 RBIs and a .978 fielding percentage. Caston is right-right, standing 6-0 and weighing in at 205. He is a Business major.
Caston was a four year starting catcher at Stratford High School and was co-valedictorian was ranked No. 1 in his class academically.
