Citing a need for more pitching, the Chicago Cubs traded Rocky Cherry (Harrisonburg 2001) and Scott Moore to the Baltimore Orioles for Steve Trachsel on Friday. Cherry has bounced back and forth between AAA Iowa and Chicago this year; maybe this trade will give him the opportunity to stick in he majors and get established in Baltimore. He is known for being a "ROOGY," a guy who can come in and retire a right-handed batter or two. ("ROOGY" stands for right-handed one-out guy)
